About Jiménez Construcción

Jiménez Construcción is Victor's company, based in Georgetown and working across Williamson County and into Austin. Twenty years of it, in the same metro, on the same clay.

That length of time in one place is worth more than it sounds. It means the houses we open up are houses we have opened before, the ground we dig has behaved this way for us in previous droughts, and the answer to "is this normal around here?" comes from having seen it rather than from guessing.

The cabins

The tiny homes are the work Victor is known for, and they are the reason a lot of people call. Framed on a trailer or set on piers, lined in cedar, with a sleeping loft over the living end and the beams left showing.

Three ways to get one: built to your plan, bought already finished, or rented. The rental option is the unusual one — most builders will sell you a cabin and very few will rent you one, and renting is often the honest answer when the need has an end date.

From the ground up, literally

The rest of the work runs in a straight line from the foundation to the finish. We pour slabs and set piers, we frame and roof what goes on them, and we finish the inside. When the ground has moved under a house that is already there, we put it back on level.

One crew through all of it is not a slogan — it is why the slab dimensions and the framing dimensions are the same conversation, and why nothing waits on a subcontractor who has been double-booked somewhere else.

Why local knowledge is not a slogan here

Central Texas sits on Blackland Prairie clay. It swells when it is wet and shrinks hard in a drought, and it does that every year. Everything structural in this metro is a response to that fact — why old houses were built on piers, why slabs need real reinforcement, why one corner of a house drops while the others do not, and why the tree in the front garden is sometimes part of the conversation.

Somebody who has worked one drought here knows the theory. Twenty years of them is a different thing.
